Our friendship began in December
of 1998, but we quickly realized that aside from
starting a great friendship, we found love. Things
progressed quickly and we were engaged in October of
1999, and then were married in May of 2000. Becca had
already graduated from college and Chad had a year and
a half remaining. After graduating in December 2001
with a degree in Civil Engineering, Chad took a job
with a large company that required us to move. Almost
a year after we had settled in we began our journey
into infertility with Becca’s sister-in-law as our
surrogate. For two years we experienced many
emotional ups and downs. On our first attempt we were
successful, however we had a miscarriage at 2 months.
Over the course of a year we made two more attempts,
yet both were unsuccessful. As sad as we were, we
began to see that God just might have a different plan
for us. We both come from very devout Christian homes
and were comforted by the prayers and support that
poured from our family and friends. Through this
hardship our marriage has been strengthened as we have
relied on each other through the difficult times. We
have so much love for each other, and we are now ready
to share that love with a child.
When we are not working at our jobs we
enjoy spending time together with our family and
friends. We enjoy camping, and do so regularly with a
group of friends and children from our church. We
also enjoy going on vacation by ourselves to various
locations, especially the beach. We are big fans of
college football and basketball and often go to
games. We have two small dogs that we are crazy
about, as you can see from the pictures. They love to
play dress up (not really) and are very good with
kids. They love to play and cuddle with our good
friends two children and are always excited when they
come over. We enjoy spending time with our friends
from church and use any excuse to get together.
